Meet the historic district of Vegueta on Las Palmas, through its narrow cobbled streets. We will guide you professionally, providing historical details, art and, especially, anecdotes.
La Vegueta de Santa Ana is a Gothic quarter of the fifteenth century, which was declared a national historic artistic complex in April 5, 1973. We will visit the enclave where the conquest of the Canary Islands started, in the Plaza de San Antonio Abad and the old Portuguese street, with the fifteenth century's Hospital de San Martin.
We will cross winding alleys, where you can admire the first noble houses after the conquest of the island. Then, we will move down the street of Los Balcones, Plaza del Pilar Nuevo. From there we will enter the Cathedral of Santa Ana, with its Gothic interior.
We will continue along Plaza de Santa Ana, with its iconic monumental and representatives buildings of society. It will end at the home of the governors or Columbus Museum to discover the magnificent history of the building and of the famous navigator Christopher Columbus, who arrived at the island in 3 of the 4 trips he made to America.
